Ingredients

1 box bran buds
2 c boiling water
3 c sugar
4 eggs, beaten
1 c oil
5 c flour
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 Tbsp baking soda
2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp grated orange peel
2 c raisins
4 c buttermilk

Directions

In a very large bowl, mix together the bran buds and water and let stand for 10 minutes. Mix together the sugar, eggs and oil and add the bran buds. Mix together flour, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, orange peel and raisins. Add to bran mixture alternately with buttermilk until well mixed.
Spoon batter into muffin tins for number desired, sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar mixture. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until tester comes out clean. Serve with apple or honey butter.
