Ingredients

3 c all purpose flour
3/4 c buttermilk
3 Tbsp brown sugar (firmly packed)
3/4 c pure maple syrup
2 1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 c butter, melted and cooled
3/4 tsp baking soda
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/4 water
1/8 tsp salt
3/4 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 c toasted chopped walnuts

Directions

In a large bowl, stir together flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir nuts into dry ingredients to coat. In another bowl, stir together buttermilk, syrup, butter, egg, water and vanilla just until combined.
Spoon into muffin tins and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 20 minutes, or until lightly browned
