We are delighted to introduce you to our unique restaurant and bed & breakfast located 9 miles west of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Hickory Bridge Farm is a wonderful place where you can enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of the country.
The history of the farm dates back to the late 1700's when the Scotch Irish settlers first came to the area. Over the years the farm was used for farming, a blacksmith shop, a distillery, and a barrel factory. During the Civil War it was known that soldiers fled the war by going through the farm and into the mountains. In the early 1960's the farm was converted into a restaurant. Several cottages were built for guests to enjoy overnight accommodations.
In 1977, our family purchased Hickory Bridge Farm, which now consists of approximately 100 acres and is still being farmed by our family. We have registered Black Angus cattle that can be seen in the nearby pastures. Most of the other fields are used for hay and crops. Fine farm style dinners are served in the beautifully restored Pennsylvania barn and overnight guests enjoy the bed and breakfast accommodations in the farmhouse and the cottages.
Come to the farm and be spoiled by the old fashioned hospitality and the beauty of the country.
We hope to meet you soon! Robert and Mary Lynn Martin
