The term "Bed and Breakfast", a category featured in
many travel guides and in online directories, describes
a property that offers rooms that include a full morning
meal. The term doesn't really do justice to the variety
of wonderful breakfasts served in unique settings at
many Select Registry properties, however. In this day
and age of "express breakfast bars" and fast food breakfast
bagels, there are exceptions to the rule. A bed
and breakfast recipe from a property of distinction
is certain to be enjoyed.
Select Registry inns offer you incredible breakfast
experiences. Some are elaborate, multi-coursed affairs
with layered pastries, imported teas and hard-to-find
delicacies. Others offer simple goodness: home-made
granola and bakery items, fresh squeezed juice, eggs
cooked to order and a rasher of maple-smoked bacon.
In a Texas B&B, start your day with fresh chorizo,
tortillas, beans and salsa. In Virginia, stacks of flapjacks
and waffles, slow-cured ham and home fries tempt your
palate. An Innkeeper in Oregon may serve you fresh salmon
caviar and watercress on a bed of lightly scrambled
eggs. The possibilities are endless.
Travelers have come to expect the best at Select Registry
properties, and with good cause. Many Select Registry
innkeepers are gourmet cooks; others have years of experience
in cooking those "down-home" specialties that we often
associate with family gatherings or special occasions.
It's no coincidence that recipe books from B&Bs
and Country Inns are popular fixtures throughout North
America.
