Proud of our Wine Cellars
Last year, over $25 billion worth of table wine was produced and sold in the U.S. and Canada. From California, Washington, Oregon, and New York, to British Columbia, Ontario and elsewhere, wineries are producing the fruit of the vine -- and innkeepers are serving it to their guests. Many Select Registry properties feature regional domestic wines along side fine French, Italian, and Australian vintages.
Our members are rightfully proud of their wine cellars -- some of which, like the Carter House Inns in Eureka, California -- contain thousands of bottles. Quite a few have received Wine Spectator Awards of Excellence; the Silver Thatch Inn in Charlottesville, Virginia has received the Spectator's Award of Excellence for fifteen years in a row.
Several others -- like Friends Lake Inn -- have received the publication's prestigious Grand Award. Jordan, Ontario's Inn on the Twenty is home to Cave Spring Cellars, which produces wine of great flavor and intensity using traditional methods and varietals such as Chardonnay, Merlot, and Riesling.
