The Spa Experience
"Select Registry inns ... the perfect places to be pampered."
Travelers seek relaxation and pampering
The trends are clear …travelers are increasingly looking for relaxation, pampering, massage therapy and spa services when they getaway for vacation or while on business trips.
One-third of the respondents to a recent Gallup poll said access to a spa or spa services is important in making their travel plans, and throughout North America, guests are heading to destinations and properties that offer such services. Spa Finder Magazine recently reported that over 95 million visits will be made this year to U.S. spas, and Spa Canada notes "From sophisticated day spas to dude ranches, Canada has moved right ahead into the first rank of North American Health destinations."
To respond to this demand, a growing number of Select Registry inns now offer spa services.
Some of our inns-such as the Casa de las Chimeneas in Taos, NM-have their own on-site spa facilities. For other member properties, these services may take the form of in-room massages or by-appointment treatments in partnership with local day spas. Many offer a "menu" of in-room services for its guests or a massage by the pool. Whether as an integral part of their facilities or as a standard feature available for travelers, many Select Registry properties have added this additional dimension to already relaxing and pampering lodging experiences.
At the Wellness Spa at Casa de las Chimeneas, guests can enjoy a full complement of massage services and spa treatments on site in the specially designed massage room or in the privacy of their rooms. Treatments can be part of a romantic stay, such as a couples massage, or a personally tailored rest and rejuvenation stay with yoga, meditation and daily treatments. Outdoor enthusiasts appreciate massage with hot rocks or steam tent to soothe aching muscles after a day filled with hiking, biking or skiing.
The Inn at New Berlin and The Integral Yoga Center of Pennsylvania invites guests to spend a night at the inn and build a yoga retreat around current offerings at The Integral Yoga Center of Pennsylvania, located one block down the street. For a supplemental fee, guests may add a special private tutorial session with The Center's yogi and teacher, Sudharman. Those staying at the inn may begin or end the retreat in sheer bliss with a one-hour classic Swedish massage in the Inn's Spa Room.
