Travelers seek relaxation and pampering
The trends are clear …travelers are increasingly looking for relaxation, pampering, massage therapy and spa services when they getaway for vacation or while on business trips.
One-third of the respondents to a recent Gallup poll said access to a spa or spa services is important in making their travel plans, and throughout North America, guests are heading to destinations and properties that offer such services. Spa Finder Magazine recently reported that over 95 million visits will be made this year to U.S. spas, and Spa Canada notes "From sophisticated day spas to dude ranches, Canada has moved right ahead into the first rank of North American Health destinations."
To respond to this demand, a growing number of Select Registry inns now offer spa services.
Some of our inns-such have their own on-site spa facilities. For other member properties, these services may take the form of in-room massages or by-appointment treatments in partnership with local day spas. Many offer a "menu" of in-room services for its guests or a massage by the pool. Whether as an integral part of their facilities or as a standard feature available for travelers, many Select Registry properties have added this additional dimension to already relaxing and pampering lodging experiences.
At some inns, guests can enjoy a full complement of massage services and spa treatments on site in a specially designed massage room or in the privacy of their rooms. Treatments can be part of a romantic stay, such as a couples massage, or a personally tailored rest and rejuvenation stay with yoga, meditation and daily treatments. Outdoor enthusiasts appreciate massage with hot rocks or steam tent to soothe aching muscles after a day filled with hiking, biking or skiing.
