  • 1 cup steel cut oats (Irish Oatmeal)
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup wheat berries (available at health food stores)
  • 1/4 cup barley
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 cups hot water
  • 4 cups milk
  • Optional:
  • dried fruit
  • brown sugar or maple syrup

Preparation
Preparation
Soak all the ingredients overnight in 4 cups hot water.
Cook in a 2 qt. saucepan with 4 cups milk for 30-40 minutes, covered, on low het, stiring often

Serve with brown sugar or maple syrup
Excellent with dried fruit mixed in the last 10 minutes of cooking
