Ingredients
- ¾ cup pecans
- ½ cup almonds
- 4 cups old fashioned oats (not quick cooking)
- ½ stick salted butter + ¼ c. water
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- ½ cup dried cranberries
- ½ cup raisins
Preparation
Line a baking pan with aluminum foil. Spread nuts on sheet and roast, watching carefully, for 8-10 minutes at 375 degrees, or until lightly toasted. Transfer to a shallow pan or board to cool. Chop coarsely and set aside.
Pour oats and sesame seeds into a mound on baking sheet. Melt butter in a bowl, then stir in maple syrup. Drizzle on oats and stir well with a rubber scraper to ensure even coating. Spread in an even layer. Bake oats at 300 degrees for 30 - 60 minutes, stirring halfway. Oats should be lightly toasted. Let cool. Toss with dried fruit and nuts. Store in an airtight container.
