Almond Butter Torte

This torte is a perfect dessert for any time of the year

  • ½ cup butter (1 stick) softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 extra large egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 ½ tsp almond extract
  • Shake of salt
  • 6 tbs sliced almonds

Preparation
Preparation
Beat first 3 ingredients by hand until fluffy - about 1 minute. Add and mix next 3 ingredients until blended.

Spread into 9” greased and floured (Pam) pan. Sprinkle and press almonds onto batter.

BAKE for about 30 -35 minutes or until golden and edges are cooked. When serving, warm bottom of pan for a second or two over burner for easy removal.

•VARIATION: Use dried cherries or dried blueberries instead of the almonds
•OPT: Before baking, sprinkle coarse sugar lightly on top of nuts or berries
